Best tips to reduce postpartum swelling - help needed

I am coming up with some recommendations for my cousin. She just gave birth 3 days ago and is super worried if postpartum swelling stays. Based on my experience, after 3-4 days since giving birth is when the swelling is at maximum… then it will slowly start to go away from day 7-8. But it will vary person to person. Please help to comment if you have good recommendation for postpartum swelling!

1. Pumpkin tea

  • There are a lot of brands out there online, but I recommend to find Korean ones as well. Koreans drink pure pumpkin tea after giving birth or even for swelling from plastic surgery.

  • Check the ingredients if it is 100% safe to take postpartum

2. Yoga / Pilates

  • For gradual body shape and reduction postpartum swelling. You can either do it at home with YouTube or subscribe for studio lessons.

  • Full yoga and pilates movements is not recommended until month 3, but you can start super slow with simple ones before that.

  • Try to raise and hold legs ups for some time every day, every night. You can use wall to make "L" shape of your legs from body. Believe or not, this is really helpful!

3. Massage

  • Postpartum slimming massage (either at home or at the therapist clinics)

  • In many cases when lymph node is blocked, self-massaging it with lymph oil will be very helpful

4. Compression stockings

5. Foot bath

  • There are many brands for foot bath online.

6. Eat well with low sodium diet

Is she doing breastfeeding? Breastfeeding will help a lot...! and also simple and slow walking every day. I think pumpkin tea is good but way too much of drinking water will make it even worse!
