My close friend is visitng Singapore this month. He lives in London. What kind of Singaporean local food & restaurant should I try with him when he is in town? He already tried chili crab before.. and I am looking for a restaurant because I would like to treat him a good stuff!

Blue Ginger at Tanjong Pagar! It's Peranakan food, a proper good restaurant. Beef rendang, Udang Nonya, Ayam Panggang, Juhu Kangkong etc would be good ones to try!
actually speaking of Peranakan... I recommend Candlenut at Dempsey too. Good ambience, it could get a little more expensive than Blue Ginger. Both recommended.
